  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • Chocolate syrup (for decoration)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish)
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda (for mixing)
  • ½ cup grenadine

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Mix the red velvet cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and buttermilk in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Once baked, let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Frost the cooled cake with cream cheese icing mixed with red food coloring for a bloody effect.
  6. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the frosted cake to simulate blood drips.
  7. Top the cake with maraschino cherries for decoration.
  8. Mix lemon-lime soda with grenadine in a separate pitcher and serve chilled over ice.
  9. Slice the cake and serve it with the festive drink.

Notes

For the best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Refrigerate the cake before cutting for cleaner slices.
