An easy and customizable homemade pizza recipe perfect for family gatherings and fun dining experiences.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni slices (optional)
  • Bell peppers, sliced (optional)
  • Mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Onions, sliced (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast in a bowl, letting it sit until frothy.
  2. Prepare the dough by mixing flour and salt, then adding the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Shape the pizza by rolling out the dough to desired thickness on a floured surface.
  7. Add pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese, along with any optional toppings.
  8. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

For a crispy crust, preheat your baking surface. Avoid overloading with toppings to keep the crust from becoming soggy.
