A comforting and hearty dish featuring tender ground beef, flavorful mushrooms, and a flaky pie crust, perfect for family dinners or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of pie crusts (2 crusts)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Sauté the chopped onions and minced garlic until the onions are soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Cook the sliced mushrooms until tender, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then add the frozen peas, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  6. Assemble the pie by rolling out one pie crust into a dish and filling it with the beef mixture.
  7. Seal the pie with the second crust, pressing edges together, and cut slits for ventilation. Brush with egg wash.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve after cooling slightly. Enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or a meat alternative. You can also freeze the pie before baking for later use.
