Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb uncooked potato gnocchi
  • Garlic (use fresh or powdered)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sear the seasoned chicken in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for 8–10 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Melt the butter in the same skillet; add shallots and minced garlic, sauté for about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the shallots and garlic to create a roux and gradually whisk in chicken broth, milk, and heavy cream, stirring until thickened.
  6. Add diced chicken and uncooked gnocchi into the sauce, mixing well.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

For a crispy top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
