A delightful Middle Eastern dish featuring spiced chicken served with creamy garlic sauce, perfect for wraps or salads.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp ground paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (add more if you love garlic)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Pita bread or flatbread (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, olive oil, salt, and pepper to form a marinade.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken thighs to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for the best flavor.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked and slightly charred on the outside. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  4. Make the Garlic Sauce: While the chicken is cooking, combine the yogurt, mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Mix well until smooth.
  5. Slice the Chicken: Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  6. Assemble Your Dish: Serve the chicken in pita bread or flatbread, drizzled with the garlic sauce and garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Adjust spices to preference for a spicy kick.
