A timeless dish perfect for gatherings, especially during the holiday season, with rich flavor and hearty texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1-2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 cups chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the diced onions and celery in melted butter until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Combine the cubed bread with the sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly mixed.
  4. Add the chicken broth gradually, mixing gently until the bread is moist but not soggy.
  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture into a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.

Notes

For best texture, use day-old or lightly toasted bread. Substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
