A warm bowl of Cozy Mushroom Pasta that combines creamy sauce, earthy mushrooms, and delightful textures, making it a quick and satisfying meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Pasta (Any type you love, like fettuccine or penne)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Can substitute with any neutral oil)
  • 1 medium Onion (Finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 250 grams Mushrooms (Cremini or Button)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream (For a rich and creamy sauce)
  • 100 grams Parmesan Cheese (Reserve some for garnishing later)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme (Dried or Fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley (Chopped)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large saucepan, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Onions and Garlic: While the pasta cooks, add olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Cook the Mushrooms: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until they release their moisture and start to brown. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  4. Make the Cream Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well to combine. Add in the thyme, salt, and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes so it thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Everything: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If the sauce seems too thick, gradually add the reserved pasta water until you achieve the desired consistency.
  6. Finish with Cheese and Herbs: Remove from heat, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately, adding additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for enhanced flavor. Adjust the heat to prevent burning the garlic.
