A quick and delicious recipe for juicy pan-seared chicken breasts, perfect for busy nights and versatile meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning evenly on both sides of each breast.
  2. Dredge in flour: Place the flour on a plate. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, making sure to shake off the excess.
  3. Heat the oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but isn’t smoking.
  4. Cook the chicken: Carefully add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest before serving: Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.

Notes

The flour creates a delicious crust; you can use gluten-free flour if desired. Feel free to adjust seasonings based on your taste; smoked paprika can add a nice twist.
