A delectable dish that brings the taste of takeout right to your kitchen with crispy chicken coated in a tangy, sweet sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, cubed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for a lighter coating)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp red chili pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed chicken with the flour (or cornstarch), garlic salt, and paprika.
  2. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the Chicken: Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crisp, about 4-5 minutes per batch.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a separate pan, combine the sugar, water, white vinegar, soy sauce, and salt. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Add the fried chicken to the pan with the sauce and toss to coat evenly for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve: Sprinkle the red chili pepper flakes over the chicken before serving if desired.

Notes

Ensure proper oil temperature and don’t skip drying the chicken for better texture. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
