A fun and creative take on French toast with a spooky ghostly twist, perfect for Halloween breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (Challah or Texas toast)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Mini chocolate chips for eyes (or substitute with raisins)
  • 2 tablespoons butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Cut the Bread: Use a ghost-shaped cookie cutter to cut shapes from each slice of the bread.
  3. Soak the Bread: Dip each ghost-shaped bread piece into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
  4. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
  5. Cook the Ghosts: Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Decorate: Once all the bread is cooked, sprinkle powdered sugar over each piece and use mini chocolate chips to make eyes.

Notes

Choose thicker slices of bread for best results and avoid soaking for too long to prevent sogginess.
