A delightful dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a flavorful marinade, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.2 lbs / 550 g)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 2 green onions (thinly sliced, for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Taste and adjust as desired.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken breasts in a shallow dish or zip-top bag. Pour marinade over chicken, ensuring even coating. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes; for best results, marinate 1 to 2 hours.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Heat grill to medium-high, approximately 400°F (200°C). Lightly oil grill grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill for 6 to 7 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest & Slice: Transfer grilled chicken to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve: Slice the chicken and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Pair with rice, noodles, or slaw.

Notes

Marinate longer for more flavor; monitor grill temperature to avoid overcooking.
