Delightful Halloween cookies that are easy to make and fun to decorate, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Halloween-themed decorations (sprinkles, icing, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and white sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
  6. Form rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass and decorate with Halloween-themed toppings.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers remain soft.
  9. Cool on racks after allowing the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheets.

Notes

Use softened butter for fluffier cookies, and consider chilling the dough if it’s too sticky.
