Spooky deviled eggs with a marbled green appearance and spider web designs, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Food coloring (green and black)
  • Olives or spider-shaped decorations (optional)
  • Chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot and covering them with water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes before transferring to an ice bath to cool.
  2. Prepare the eggs by gently tapping each egg to crack the shell, then peeling them under cool running water for easier removal. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise.
  3. Separate the yolks from the egg whites, placing the yolks in a mixing bowl and setting the egg whites aside for filling.
  4. Make the filling by mashing the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  5. Add food coloring by dividing the yolk mixture into two bowls and mixing a drop of green coloring into one bowl to achieve a vibrant hue.
  6. Fill the egg whites using a spoon or piping bag, alternating between the plain and green filling for a marbled effect.
  7. Decorate the eggs by dipping a toothpick into black food coloring and drawing spider web lines across the filled eggs. Use olives or other decorations for added fun.
  8. Garnish with chives on top if desired, and serve chilled for the best flavor.

Notes

Use older eggs for easier peeling and customize flavors with spices. Avoid over-mixing food coloring for the marbled effect.
