A delightful Minecraft-themed cake that’s perfect for Halloween celebrations or any fun occasion. Fun to make and delicious to eat!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy cream
  • Green, brown, and black fondant
  • Edible decorations (chocolate rocks, candy trees)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and combine.
  5. Combine the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry mix. Mix until just combined.
  6. Bake the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  7. Prepare the frosting by beating the softened butter until creamy, then adding powdered sugar and mixing until well combined. Add vanilla and heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a stand, spreading frosting, then topping with the second layer and covering with frosting.
  9. Decorate using fondant to create pixelated designs and arrange edible decorations to enhance the theme.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for smoother mixing. Properly cool the cake before frosting to prevent melting.
