An easy and flavorful Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner or a cozy gathering.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti (whole wheat for a healthier option)
  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, drain the rest.
  2. Sauté the shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Combine: Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Pour in lemon juice and some reserved pasta water to create a sauce. Toss to coat.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the shrimp to keep them tender. Reserve pasta water for a better sauce.
