Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornbread, crumbled
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Mix the crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, sage, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  4. Add the vegetable broth gradually, ensuring the mixture is moist but not soggy.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving warm.

Notes

This dressing can be made ahead of time and frozen for up to 2 months. Consider using leftover cornbread for enhanced flavor.
