This melt-in-your-mouth chicken breast features a flavorful buttermilk marinade, resulting in juicy, tender chicken that’s perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for the best flavor and tenderness.
  3. Preheat the Oven: When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Sear the Chicken: In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken breasts.
  5. Brown the Chicken: Cook for about 5 minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown.
  6. Bake the Chicken: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  7. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate overnight. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
