A comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts coated in a buttery garlic sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts, butterflied and pounded thin
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • 0.5 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour (for sauce)
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coating: In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dredge the chicken: Take the butterflied chicken breasts and dredge each one in the flour mixture.
  3. Cook the chicken: Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
  4. Make the garlic sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat and melt the remaining butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Thicken the sauce: Stir in parsley, then whisk in flour. Gradually pour in chicken broth and lemon juice. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Serve: Spoon the garlic sauce over the crispy chicken and garnish with extra parsley.
