A delightful chocolate cake decorated with black fondant and glowing orange eyes, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Black fondant for decoration
  • Candy or icing for glowing orange eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  2. Mix in a large bowl the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the boiling water carefully into the batter.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them and letting them cool on wire racks.
  7. Frost the cakes with chocolate frosting and cover with black fondant.
  8. Use candy or icing to create glowing orange eyes.
  9. Slice and enjoy this delightful treat!
