Delightful and spooky Spider Deviled Eggs, perfect for Halloween gatherings, combining creamy filling with a fun presentation.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Black olives (for decoration)
  • Paprika (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn off the heat and cover the pot. Let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Cool the eggs: Transfer the boiled eggs to an ice bath to cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel and slice: Carefully peel the cooled eggs under running water if needed, then slice each egg in half lengthwise.
  4. Prepare the filling: Gently remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  5. Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves, filling them generously.
  6. Create the spiders: Cut the black olives in half, then slice one half into four legs. Arrange two halves on each egg to create a spider appearance.
  7. Garnish (optional): Sprinkle paprika on top for an extra touch of color, if desired.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Arrange the deviled eggs on a platter and serve them chilled.

Notes

Use fresh eggs for easier peeling. Allow the eggs to fully cool in the ice bath for the best texture when peeling. You can customize the filling with ingredients like herbs, bacon bits, or cheese.
