Creative twist on classic deviled eggs perfect for Halloween gatherings, featuring a spooky spiderweb design.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon wasabi paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Black olives (for decoration)
  • Chives or green onions (for spiderweb design)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs by placing them in a pot and covering them with cold water. Bring to a rolling boil, then cover the pot and let the eggs sit off the heat for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Cool and peel the eggs by removing them from the pot and running them under cold water. Once cooled, gently peel the eggs and cut them in half lengthwise.
  3. Mash the yolks by carefully scooping them out into a mixing bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork until crumbly and smooth.
  4. Mix the filling by adding the mayonnaise, wasabi paste, salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks. Mix until fully combined and creamy.
  5. Fill the eggs by using a spoon or piping bag to fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture, creating a generous mound.
  6. Create the spiderweb design by taking thin strips of chives or green onions and placing them over the egg filling in a spiderweb pattern.
  7. Add the spiders by cutting black olives into halves or quarters to create spider shapes and placing them on top of the filling.
  8. Serve chilled by arranging the deviled eggs on a platter and refrigerating until serving time.

Notes

Ensure eggs are thoroughly cooled for easier peeling. Adjust spice level to taste. Use a piping bag for more precise filling.
