A comforting dish filled with flavors and textures that warm both the body and soul, featuring tender wontons filled with fresh vegetables in a savory broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, finely chopped carrots, mushrooms, and minced garlic. Mix well until evenly distributed.
  2. Fill the wontons: Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the vegetable mixture in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold it in half to create a triangle, and press to seal. Bring the two corners together to shape the wonton. Repeat until all filling is used.
  3. Cook the wontons: In a large pot, bring the vegetable broth to a gentle boil. Carefully add the wontons and cook for about 5 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  4. Season the soup: Once the wontons are cooked, stir in the soy sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve: Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions before serving hot.

Notes

Ensure wontons are sealed tightly and avoid overcrowding the pot to ensure even cooking; taste the broth seasoning and adjust as needed.
